Richard “Dick” James Scheller, 80, of Sister Bay, handed away on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024, surrounded by household at his house.
He was born Nov. 19, 1943, to the late Raymond and Ester (Paasch) Scheller in Marshfield, WI. He graduated from Marshfield Excessive Faculty in 1961 and attended UW Eau Claire the place he earned a bachelor’s diploma in historical past in 1965.
Dick was united in marriage to Penny Irene Allen on September 4, 1965, in Madison.
On the job, Dick put in citizen’s band radio towers for Motorola and later labored within the advert gross sales division for the Door Reminder newspaper. Years later, he joined his spouse on the Tannenbaum Vacation Store and helped develop and increase the household enterprise over the course of 30 years.

In retirement, Dick stayed extremely lively. He was an avid golfer, bowler and pickleball participant. He loved tennis, climbing, fishing and biking. To the day he handed, Dick yearned to be within the presence of others. He beloved music, and infrequently spun information at his many gatherings, New Yr’s Eve events had been his favourite. He all the time had a narrative to inform over a chocolate chip cookie. An earnest listener and confidant, Dick persistently made time for household and mates, in illness and in well being. Dick loved going to Sunshine Cottage the previous few years, and spending time with Sarge, his favourite.

Dick is survived by his spouse, Penny; youngsters Kirsten Scheller, Eric (Jennifer) Scheller, and Aaron (Melissa) Scheller; grandchildren, Emma (Andrew), Ian, and Jillian; sister-in-law, Judy (Dick) Berger; brother-in-law, Richard (Val) Allen and their youngsters; and niece, Susan Scheller-Kirby. He’s additional survived by different family members and lots of mates.
He was preceded in demise by his dad and mom.
A memorial service shall be held at 11 am on Monday, Aug. 12, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 7973 WI-57, Baileys Harbor, with Rev. Gary Scharrig officiating. Visitation shall be held within the church fellowship corridor from 9:30 am till the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations could be made to Sunflower Cottage of Sturgeon Bay and Immanuel Lutheran Church of Baileys Harbor.
