My time at WeConservePA has been academic, busy, and rewarding. I might be leaving the group after March 22 to take a place on the Administrative Workplace of Pennsylvania Courts (AOPC) working within the space of elder justice. Having worn the hats of librarian, net designer, e-newsletter editor (in case you received a Preserve Land Replace, Challenge & Individuals Information, Greenway & Path Information, or EAC Community Publication previously two years, that was me), social media supervisor, graphic designer, occasions marketer, information aggregator for Pennsylvania conservation, and extra, I’m trying ahead to persevering with to develop these expertise in future settings and grateful for the possibility to hold that baton right here for a time.

I hope to stay engaged as a supporter of conservation for the remainder of my days.

The unity of the conservation group in Pennsylvania is one in all its most outstanding cultural options. Actually, I’ve seen repeatedly in my tenure right here how organizations each non-public and public come collectively to make this essential work occur. It’s due to that collaborative and decided spirit that land conservation, habitat and farmland preservation, sustainable forestry, watershed enchancment, parks, trails, and out of doors recreation stay a daily function of our daily lives on this commonwealth.

I’ll miss all of the folks probably the most: my colleagues at WeConservePA are so clever, earnest, and devoted to the mission. Our member and affiliate collaborators are outstanding professionals and terrific folks, too. Time interfacing with them at conferences, conferences, and occasions (even digitally over Zoom or electronic mail) is all the time academic and galvanizing.

Carrying a few of this inspiration ahead, I’m embarking on a long-term pictures expertise to doc a few of my favourite pure areas in central Pennsylvania and make the most of these pictures in a future artwork and efficiency venture.

As Garrison Keillor is fond of claiming in his sign-offs, “Be Properly, Do Good Work, and Preserve in Contact.” I hope to stay linked to you all in significant methods, and am grateful for the methods your work has made my life richer and higher. It really has.
